One may ask, "Father how can I be humble in today’s world, it is so hard"! Indeed, it is, for the Prince of this world seeks to devour us like a noetic wolf, not merely closing it jagged teeth around, but like a wolf swallowing us whole.
Behold, the Lord will make His abode in us if we are of a humble spirit and a contrite heart:
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
And how should one who is humble comport themselves:
-by obedience to your spiritual father
-by condemning yourself in your thoughts
-by earnestly listening when someone else is speaking
-by struggling to only see the good in someone and cover the bad
-by keeping Holy the Feasts and fasts of the Church
-by maintaining the faith of our Fathers and loving our Holy Faith as the "Apple of our eye"
-by avoiding gossip, idle chatter, worldly activity and conversation
-by maintaining your daily prayer rule faithfully
-by emulating the Saints and putting into practice the words of the Holy Forerunner: "I must decrease so that you might increase" not only in regard to Christ, but to your neighbour, then you know that you are not far from humility because you are allowing your mind, heart, and soul to be molded by the god-pleasing thoughts and actions of a humble person.
