Folks today have a saying, “hope for the best but prepare for the worst”. As Orthodox Christians, we look at this a little bit differently – “as the Lord hath willed, so hath it come to pass, blessed be the name of the Lord”. This is a paraphrase from the Prophet Job, who is the model par-excellence for those undergoing trials and temptations.

Our Lord will NEVER abandon us, in spite of our sins, and He is always there to carry us when we are at the lowest moments in our lives.
